On 20th June, the Concours Mondial De Bruxelles award ceremony was held in Rome: Villa Domizia participated with Gaudes Valcalepio Rosso Riserva DOC 2017 in the session dedicated to red and white wines, winning the silver medal.

The Concours Mondial de Bruxelles is a benchmark competition in the international wine scene. The competition's independence, rigour and tasting process guarantee a safe purchase of award-winning wines for consumers. This year the number of competing labels amounted to 7,504. Now in its 30^th edition, the session dedicated to red and white wines was held in Porec, Croatia, from 12^th to 14^th May. The evaluations were entrusted to specialised experts, selected for their high level of expertise and ability to taste and appreciate all kinds of wine peculiarities. The minimum score to get a silver medal at Concours Mondial De Bruxelles is 86.5/100 points.

The appreciation we received from a jury made up of expert tasters from all over the world, including buyers, salespeople, oenologists, journalists, writers, specialised critics, researchers and representatives of professional institutions, fills us with pride and encourages us to commit ourselves to promoting our territory wines.

We would also like to remember the mention appeared in Guida Viniplus 2021 by Associazione Italiana Sommelier Lombardia about our Gaudes Valcalepio Rosso Riserva 2014.

Gaudes Valcalepio Rosso Riserva DOP is produced from a selection of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes; the union of these two wines (Bordeaux blend) takes place in perfect harmony, enhancing the characteristics of every grape variety through several months of ageing in fine oak barrels and refinement in bottle. The colour is ruby red, tending to garnet after ageing. The bouquet is elegant, wide, with marked small red berries hints. The mouthfeel is rightly tannic, and persistent. It is perfectly paired with red meat, roasts and braised and boiled game; it is excellent with mature hard cheeses and with game.

Villa Domizia was established in 1995 to interpret new consumer trends with products contributing to promoting the local territory. Villa Domizia wines and spirits have gradually gained market recognition for their innovative character and are appreciated by a wide range of consumers, including young adults. This appreciation has encouraged us to continue our research, merging tradition and innovation.
